  “天行人不斷學(xué)習(xí)系列五之百年名校探索篇”,文章的作者是Birkdale學(xué)習(xí)小組,在今年這個(gè)“特殊”的冬天,天行指派各個(gè)學(xué)科組組長(zhǎng)前往英國(guó)百年老校——伯克戴爾學(xué)校深耕學(xué)習(xí)一個(gè)月。伯克戴爾學(xué)校位于英國(guó)謝菲爾德,是我們天行的姊妹學(xué)校,兩校一直保持著非常友好的交流往來(lái)關(guān)系。

  “知行合一,學(xué)無(wú)止境。”此次“斥巨資”的學(xué)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)難能可貴,那么天行“取經(jīng)團(tuán)隊(duì)”又給我們帶來(lái)了哪些教學(xué)上的經(jīng)驗(yàn)?zāi)?我們一起往下看看。

  天行一中國(guó)際學(xué)校在辦學(xué)的3年半中,拼搏奮斗,廣泛地向同行學(xué)習(xí),第一屆畢業(yè)生和第二屆將畢業(yè)的學(xué)生都拿到了世界百?gòu)?qiáng)名校的錄取通知書或預(yù)錄取通知書,至始至終都保持著高質(zhì)量的教學(xué)。今年1月,為了讓學(xué)校管理和教學(xué)質(zhì)量更上一層樓,天行校領(lǐng)導(dǎo)班子,高瞻遠(yuǎn)矚,將視野從國(guó)內(nèi)轉(zhuǎn)向世界,制定了“直接向國(guó)外最好的學(xué)校學(xué)習(xí)”的學(xué)習(xí)目標(biāo),斥巨資派遣了由學(xué)術(shù)副校長(zhǎng)帶領(lǐng)教研組長(zhǎng)的師資代表團(tuán)前往“西天取經(jīng)“。1月12日,代表團(tuán)乘上飛往英國(guó)謝菲爾德市的飛機(jī),開(kāi)始了為期一個(gè)月的從Birkdale這所百年高中尋找“西方基礎(chǔ)教育之路”的旅程。Birkdale是天行一中在英國(guó)的友好學(xué)校,是一所神奇的學(xué)校。Birkdale不僅在歷經(jīng)百年滄桑巨變時(shí)一直保持著謝菲爾德市基礎(chǔ)教育的翹楚地位,而且還是英國(guó)目前為數(shù)不多的在K12階段只招收男生的學(xué)校。

  Over the three and a half years of the founding of Teensen Yizhong Cambridge International High School, Teensen has continued to strive for excellence, learned from peers and maintained its teaching quality in a high level. The graduates in the first year and the following have already received Unconditional Offers or Conditional Offers from top 100 universities in the world. In January, an advanced goal was made in Teensen by leading groups to further the management and quality, which is to seek direct experience from the best schools abroad. Then a delegation, led by vice president of academic management, was in financial support to Sheffield, UK. On January 12th, they embarked on a one-month journey to find “the road toward basic western education” in Birkdale School. As Teensen’s twin school in UK, amazingly, Birkdale has been one of the few schools in UK which only recruit boys in the K12 stage during its century-old history, and it has still kept its outstanding position in Sheffield’s basic education .

  校風(fēng)之探尋

  密碼記憶——銘記歷史,創(chuàng)造未來(lái)

  學(xué)校里有好幾棟教學(xué)樓,每棟教學(xué)樓都要輸入密碼才能進(jìn)入,這個(gè)密碼是XXXX,因?yàn)檫@所學(xué)校創(chuàng)辦于1904年(密碼是這四個(gè)數(shù)字的組合)。學(xué)生和老師無(wú)數(shù)次輸入這個(gè)密碼,無(wú)數(shù)次被暗示這所學(xué)校有著輝煌久遠(yuǎn)的歷史;無(wú)數(shù)次激發(fā)師生們對(duì)學(xué)校歷史的驕傲和自豪感,并以此為標(biāo)桿,無(wú)數(shù)次鼓舞他們繼續(xù)創(chuàng)造輝煌。

  In Birkdale School, each teaching building is is only accessible by with password 1904, since the school was founded in 1904, combination of these four numbers. Being repeatedly input for numerous times by teachers and students here, the password reveals the hidden glorious history of this school. Thus such a gold standard permanently inspires teachers and students to be proud and recreate the brilliance.

  特色晨會(huì)——宣揚(yáng)基督教義,賦予時(shí)代意義

  學(xué)校一周有三種晨會(huì),分為校晨會(huì)、年級(jí)晨會(huì)和house 晨會(huì)。每個(gè)晨會(huì)15分鐘,主要內(nèi)容分成兩個(gè)部分:第一部分是事務(wù)性事情,比如通知,表彰和批評(píng)等;第二部分是老師灌輸心靈雞湯,老師根據(jù)不同主題進(jìn)行7-10分鐘演講。在這里,初中和高中老師總共40人左右(小學(xué)在另一個(gè)校區(qū)),大家算一下就會(huì)有驚人的發(fā)現(xiàn):一方面是讓人嘆為觀止的晨會(huì)數(shù)量和老師的博學(xué)!這里中學(xué)部一周正常有11個(gè)晨會(huì)(一周校晨會(huì)1個(gè),年級(jí)晨會(huì)7個(gè),house晨會(huì)3個(gè)),老師要做11次演講,每月就一共有44次演講,那就意味著每個(gè)老師至少每月有1-2次的演講任務(wù)。如此高頻的高水平的演講,40來(lái)個(gè)老師肚子里得有多少干貨,得不斷的自我充電多少次啊!可以說(shuō),他們的博學(xué)成就了Birkdale的歷史,而B(niǎo)irkdale這個(gè)平臺(tái)也造就了他們的博學(xué)!另一方面是讓人驚嘆的教育結(jié)果:老師能夠不斷地沉淀、擴(kuò)大閱歷、再沉淀,輸出給學(xué)生,這本身就是進(jìn)行自我思想教育與提升的過(guò)程;而學(xué)生也能夠在高頻地被教育中迅速提高思想境界。Birkdale的晨會(huì)讓我對(duì)一種力量感到敬畏:一件小事,通過(guò)一群人有責(zé)任心的、有熱情的、有高度的、反復(fù)的去做,就變成了一件偉大的事。

  Three different assemblies are held in Birkdale every week, respectively the whole school, the whole grade and the whole house. Each assembly lasts 15 minutes for two parts, one is notice affairs like rewards and punishments, and the other is motivational speeches from teachers, ranging from 7-10 minutes according to different topics.. There are about 40 teachers in secondary schools in total (primary school is located at another campus), thus it is amazing to hold such assemblies. How erudite the teachers are! 1 school assembly, 7 grade assemblies and 3 house assemblies, that means there are 11 per week and 44 each month, and each teacher will make at least1-2 speeches every month if counted carefully. Such frequent speeches in good quality did really show the encyclopedically learnt outcome from the teachers there. Undoubtedly, their erudition waters Birkdale and Birkdale breeds them. On the other hand, it bears abundant fruits. Teachers choose ceaseless learning and then preach, which is in itself a process of self ideological education and promotion. And students nourish themselves during such a rapid progress. I’m awed by such a power when attending the assembly, a great thing that comes from repeating a small thing with responsibility, enthusiasm, height by a group of people.

  手機(jī)管理——言傳身教

  Birkdale 管理人員用了兩個(gè)辦法就極大的降低了老師和學(xué)生使用手機(jī)的頻率。這個(gè)低頻率是指在我們?cè)L問(wèn)的30天中幾乎沒(méi)看過(guò)老師和學(xué)生使用手機(jī),所以神奇吧。這兩條是:1)老師的辦公軟件是校園網(wǎng)的e-mail,老師在校期間與同事進(jìn)行網(wǎng)絡(luò)溝通或進(jìn)行家校溝通時(shí)都必須通過(guò)郵件的形式;2)老師在辦公室外不允許使用手機(jī)。初到時(shí),我們作為高頻使用手機(jī)的人,真的憋壞了!更糟糕的是,沒(méi)帶相機(jī),而所有的素材幾乎都在辦公室之外,手機(jī)的拍照功能被這條規(guī)定直接廢掉了。但我們還是選擇了“在校時(shí)間內(nèi)放下手機(jī)”,與其說(shuō)這是入鄉(xiāng)隨俗,倒不如說(shuō)是在Birkdale隨意用手機(jī)讓人會(huì)有負(fù)疚感和羞恥感。我只在這個(gè)學(xué)校呆了不長(zhǎng)的時(shí)間就有這樣的感覺(jué),可見(jiàn)他們言傳身教的力量有多大!Birkdale 的手機(jī)管理教育可以說(shuō)是無(wú)言的教育,但確有”此時(shí)無(wú)聲勝有聲“的效果。此刻,作為同行,有著同樣的手機(jī)管理問(wèn)題的我們要反省!我們用制度,可以說(shuō)非常嚴(yán)苛的制度去管理手機(jī),輕則退宿,重則退學(xué),但是效果一比之下見(jiàn)高低。Birkdale的方法并沒(méi)有很高明,可它的老師卻高明地成就了好的管理的效果——當(dāng)他們覺(jué)得有必要糾正學(xué)生的手機(jī)使用過(guò)渡問(wèn)題時(shí),他們共同選擇了放下自己的欲望,克服了不用手機(jī)的不便利,用自己的行為日復(fù)一日地教育學(xué)生。這種集體式的、統(tǒng)一一致的言傳身教是校風(fēng)建設(shè)中最難能可貴!Birkdale的手機(jī)管理讓我對(duì)一種力量感到敬畏:一件小事,通過(guò)一群人有責(zé)任心的、有熱情的、有高度的、反復(fù)去做,就變成了一件偉大的事。

  Two measures are effectively used to reduce the frequency of teachers and students using mobile phones in Birkdale. The low refers to that we hardly find teachers and students using mobile phones during the 30-day-visit. How amazing! ONE is that teaches are supposed to text with colleagues or parents only through emails of the campus network while working, and TWO is teachers are not allowed to use mobile phones outside the office. When we arrived, it was indeed changeable for us phone-support-human. What’s worse was that we have no cameras, and we could do nothing with the materials outside the office with the ban of phones. But we chose to do as the Romans do, since one would be guilty and ashamed when using it in campus. I just stayed here for short days, but the feeling surrounded me. I can’t help imagining the power of example. In Birkdale, mobile phone management is ruled on the condition of silence, but in deed silence is better than voice. At that moment, as a peer, we are supposed to reflect the management of phone in our school. Students would be dropped out of dorm or even school, but such rigorous rule doesn't bring any satisfactory results. The method is not very clever in Birkdale, while teachers there have achieved a good effect. As it becomes necessary to correct the transition of using mobile phones among students, their teachers jointly put down the desire and overcome the inconvenience. They educate the students by living like an example everyday. Collective and unified education is the most valuable in the construction of school spirit. I’m awed by power when behaving like examples, a great thing comes from repeating a small thing with responsibility, enthusiasm, height by a group of people.

  學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣培養(yǎng),具備高度的統(tǒng)一性和持續(xù)性

  課堂筆記,是誰(shuí)都有過(guò)的。但在這,如何培養(yǎng)學(xué)生記筆記刷新了我這個(gè)教齡超過(guò)20年的老師的認(rèn)知。大家可以直觀看到:Birdale的各科筆記本大小一樣,各年級(jí)用封面顏色加以區(qū)別,同年級(jí)封面顏色一樣,各科筆記的格式要求幾乎一樣。筆記內(nèi)容都是老師精心設(shè)計(jì)的,所有學(xué)生的筆記都一樣,部分作業(yè)還被要求黏貼在筆記本上,上完課要求上交檢查。這些從表象上看似很簡(jiǎn)單,但是你們用代入法計(jì)算一下結(jié)果:試想一下,一個(gè)學(xué)生從學(xué)前班到高中,也就是從4歲到18歲共14年間經(jīng)歷不同的學(xué)科、不同的老師,卻接受同一種記筆的方法訓(xùn)練,這個(gè)學(xué)生在記筆記的習(xí)慣上會(huì)變得多么卓越!我們剛開(kāi)始以為這是學(xué)校規(guī)定的,但當(dāng)Birkdale老師用interesting評(píng)價(jià)我們這項(xiàng)的發(fā)現(xiàn)時(shí),我們才發(fā)現(xiàn),這是他們潛意識(shí)的行為,更嚴(yán)格的說(shuō),是Birkdale學(xué)校深厚文化傳承的體現(xiàn)。無(wú)獨(dú)有偶,在上小學(xué)3年級(jí)物理課時(shí),Black老師給出清晰的指令讓孩子們放回實(shí)驗(yàn)器材,我們認(rèn)為這個(gè)教學(xué)步驟對(duì)學(xué)生收檢習(xí)慣培養(yǎng)很有好處。接著,在另一節(jié)小學(xué)一年級(jí)的歷史課上,我們又碰見(jiàn)了這個(gè)教學(xué)步驟——老師給出非常清晰的指令,讓孩子們將學(xué)習(xí)用品一樣一樣的放進(jìn)文件袋里。此后我們?cè)跓o(wú)數(shù)節(jié)跨越小學(xué)和中學(xué)的課程里都見(jiàn)到了這個(gè)步驟。我們被深深地震撼了:一個(gè)學(xué)校,在14年的養(yǎng)成教育中,注重細(xì)節(jié),貫穿始終,方法一致。大家可以想象得到這里的學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)素養(yǎng)。一件小事,通過(guò)一群人有責(zé)任心的、有熱情的、有高度的、反復(fù)去做,就變成了一件偉大的事。

  Everyone takes notes in class, however here the training of taking notes in Birkdale refreshes me who has been teaching for over 20 years. It could be observed that notebooks in Birkdale are thesame in size and form, but distinguished by colors for different grades. The contents are carefully designed by teachers. All notes are the same. Part of homework is also required to be pasted on the notebook. It seems to be simple. Whereas, if you assess it by substitution, imagine that a student is trained by the same method of note-taking from preschool to high school, which is from 4 to 18 years old, and from different subjects to different teachers, how excellent the student will become in taking notes! At first, we assume that it is a rule in Birkdale. But when the teacher evaluates our findings as “interesting”, we discover that it is only a subconscious behavior, as well as the embodiment of Birkdale's deep cultural heritage. Coincidentally, on a physics class of the third grade, Mr. Black gives clear instructions for the children to put back the experimental equipment. We believe the teaching step is very beneficial to the cultivation of students' inspection habits. Later, in another history class of first grade, we came across it again. Clear instructions are arranged for children, which is to let students put the school supplies in the same file bag. We have seen the step in countless sessions across primary and secondary schools. We are deeply shocked. Educational principles like paying attention to the details, running through the wholeprocess and using the same method are put into the 14-year-education, therefore the learning literacy of the students here could be imagined. A great thing comes from repeating a small thing with responsibility, enthusiasm, height by a group of people.

  校風(fēng)建設(shè)之領(lǐng)悟

  Bikdale的思想教育和養(yǎng)成習(xí)慣教育無(wú)疑是很成功的,它的校風(fēng)在當(dāng)?shù)乜梢?jiàn)一斑。在學(xué)校里,跨越14個(gè)年級(jí)(包括學(xué)前班),你可以肉眼看見(jiàn)很多小事演化發(fā)展成為大事的偉大過(guò)程,正如我在前面反復(fù)講的一句話:“一件小事,通過(guò)一群人有責(zé)任心的、有熱情的、有高度的、反復(fù)去做,就變成了一件偉大的事。”同時(shí),我更想知道是什么讓他們擁有這些品質(zhì),讓他們會(huì)團(tuán)結(jié)在一起,自覺(jué)地、以身作則地,潤(rùn)物細(xì)無(wú)聲地,滴水穿石般地進(jìn)行校風(fēng)建設(shè)?當(dāng)繁雜的事情回歸本源的時(shí)候,往往很簡(jiǎn)單,我們悟到的道理:首先是文化引領(lǐng)---Birkdale老師們對(duì)學(xué)校百年文化積淀的認(rèn)同;其次是職業(yè)道德引領(lǐng)---Birkdale的老師們具備高尚的職業(yè)道德。當(dāng)兩者合二為一時(shí),老師們團(tuán)結(jié)統(tǒng)一的執(zhí)行每個(gè)教育教學(xué)細(xì)節(jié),學(xué)校就具備著巨大的教育教學(xué)力量。

  Undoubtedly, Birkdale possesses successful ideological and habituation education and good school spirit locally. Across 14 grades (including preschool) in school, the great evolution to great things could be found on your own. Like what I have said before, a great thing comes from repeating the same small thing with responsibility, enthusiasm, height by a group of people. And I wonder what makes them possess these qualities, let them unite together and consciously lead by example while building up the school in silence and constancy. It is usually simple when back to roots. We recognize the identification of the century-old accumulation and high professional ethics from teachers in Birkdale. When they are combined, the teachers implement each detail jointly, and the school has the greatest force of education.

  2020年9月天行一中將搬入南昌美麗的后花園灣里,學(xué)校也將升級(jí)成為擁有小學(xué)、初中和國(guó)際高中的綜合性學(xué)校。我們所取的“經(jīng)”將不遺余力地被運(yùn)用到新校區(qū)的校風(fēng)建設(shè)中,使未來(lái)的天行具有強(qiáng)大教育教學(xué)內(nèi)驅(qū)力,成為高品質(zhì)的教育品牌。

  In September 2020, Teensen Yizhong Cambridge International High School will move to the beautiful back garden in Wanli district, Nanchang. Teensen will also be upgraded to a comprehensive school combined with elementary, middle and international high schools. The experiences we has taken will be entirely applied to the construction of school spirit in new campus, by doing so Teensen will have a strong driving force in education and therefore become a high-quality educational brand in the future.
